She is now living in Sandy, Utah, with her husband, Scott and two dogs, Vern and Bo. They are expecting their first child in December 2006. When not writing or eating cheese sandwiches, she is studying graphic design at Eagle Gate College.

The First Year is Crystal’s debut novel and she hopes there are many more to follow though perhaps ones not so closely based on friends and family—too much explaining and apologizing down that road.
