Norma Pyper Mitchell was born and grew up in Salt Lake City. She attended BYU and received a BM degree with teaching certificates in secondary music and special education. She taught in the public schools for several years.
Norma is retired and is enjoying the time she now has to write and pursue music. She is a professional accompanist and also plays the organ at the Mt. Timpanogas Temple. She is active in the LDS Church and has held many ward and stake positions. She is the mother of seven children and numerous grandchildren.
