Joan Oviatt attended college in California, Hawaii, and Utah, receiving a master of arts degree from Brigham Young University. She has garnered numerous awards in writing, music, art, acting, directing, and academics. She is a published novelist and lyricist, as well as a playwright. Amazing but True Mormon Stories is her sixth book. Joan currently resides in Salt Lake City, where she works as a freelance writer and researcher.
