Douglas Powell has only lived in the Salt Lake Valley for eight years with his wife and two daughters, but his ancestors were involved with the Mormon colonization of the West from the earliest years. He is an associate professor of dermatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, and has a love for history and photography. This is his second historic photo book - the first being Near Cumorah's Hill.
