Janene Ustach was raised in St. George, Utah, and graduated from Dixie College with an associate of science degree. She moved to California to continue her schooling at the University of West Los Angeles, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies.

While attending school in California, she met and later married her husband, Steve. They have four children: Nicholas, Matthew, Trenton, and Katelyn.

Janene enjoys a variety of sports, including basketball, swimming, racquetball, volleyball, and skiing. In her spare time she dabbles in gardening, home decorating, crafts, reading, and trying new recipes - much to the chagrin of her children.

She has had numerous callings in her ward, and is currently serving as a Sunday School teacher and activity days leader.

Janene's first book, My Self-Improvement Journal, also focused on bettering oneself; however, it was on a personal level. She has a strong testimony of self-improvement and goal setting that was instilled in her as a youth. It is her desire for all women to be the best that they can - and want - to be.
