SPRINGVILLECarol Lynn Pearson, well-known LDS author and playwright, has released a new fictional book titled The Runaway Mother.
Timing the release to coincide with Mother’s Day was no accident. “This is a book that should help all mothers realize they are doing a good job,” said Pearson, who feels that many mothers struggle through this ironically guilt-ridden holiday.
Throughout the story’s sixty-nine poignant pages, we read of a mother who has finally had enough and decides to run away over Mother’s Day weekend. Her plan is perfect until disaster strikes, tables turn, and she becomes the only one who can save the day.
Lee Nelson, Cedar Fort’s acquisitions editor, said, “This could be the best fiction we print all year.” With full support from the Cedar Fort staff, Pearson’s book has already sold out of the 4000-plus copies in the initial print run. Area bookstores are clamoring for this title with nearly nine weeks left before Mother’s Day.
Pearson, who holds a master’s degree in theater, is the mother of four grown children and lives in Walnut Creek, California. You can buy her latest book at / or wherever books are sold.
